How Lessons Work
Every student starts from a different place, so my lessons always begin with an informal chat or short diagnostic activity to see where their strengths and gaps lie. From there, I plan personalised lessons that focus on clarity, confidence, and steady progress.
Each session blends clear explanations with plenty of guided practice and feedback. Students are encouraged to think aloud, make mistakes, and learn from them - that’s how real understanding develops.
I provide regular feedback to parents and can set optional practice between sessions to consolidate learning.

I offer in-person lessons in a quiet, comfortable office setting in Bridgnorth - a calm, focused space that helps students relax and concentrate.
Lessons are informal and supportive. I use whiteboards rather than exercise books so that students can experiment freely. If something doesn’t go right, it’s easy to erase and try again - this makes the learning process feel safe and pressure-free, especially for those who lack confidence.
Face-to-face tuition suits students who like personal interaction and the reassurance of sitting side by side with their tutor.

For students who prefer to learn from home, I provide interactive online lessons using Microsoft Teams or Zoom alongside a shared digital whiteboard such as BitPaper,Pencil Spaces or Whiteboard.fi for small group sessions.
These tools allow us to write, sketch diagrams, and work through problems together in real time - it feels very much like being in the same room.
Online lessons work best if the student has a touchscreen device or a graphics tablet (an affordable model costs around £23 click here). This makes it easy to show working clearly and stay engaged throughout the session.
Online tutoring is flexible, convenient, and every bit as effective as face-to-face learning, ideal for busy schedules or students outside the Bridgnorth area.
